I remember packing my hospital bag with a weekend’s worth of laundry and my essentials. Ointments, chargers, chapstick, and a brush. Then I thought oooh, this would also be just the right moment to pack the Shark Beauty SilkiPro Straight. I hypothesized that my sew-in wouldn’t survive active labor. The idea was to put the multitasking space saving tool to the test after giving birth.

I kept my load light, but in reality, my delivery went so fast that I never got the chance to film the content I imagined. Once the whirlwind settled…and by that I mean 72 hours later…I finally took some time to put myself together at home.

Postpartum running on caffeine and supernatural will, I took a look in mirror to see my sew-in completely sweated out, then a few minutes for a fast refresh with being Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo having been in between a full wash day. After that, I took a quick pass of the straightener through my leave-out.

Was it flawless? No. But it’s no fault of the tool. I’m not sure I could ever achieve styling my hair to salon quality otherwise I’d be a hairstylist! I had been cutting corners to save time, yet it got the job done. The result was polished enough to feel like myself for appointments and pickups.

My 4C natural hair is thick and still teaching me new things. What sold me on this one is the versatility. I appreciate its convenience with interchangeable combs and wet-to-dry settings which means I can easily go from washed to blown out to sleek without switching devices. There’s labels included, but the straightener is intuitive enough.

I see this being my go-to straightener for fast visible results as it has definitely changed the possibilities styling my hair with no swapping tools or guesswork.
