Abra, the DIY duchess of Atlanta’s Awful Records, ruled the aux cords of summer with her self-produced, bass heavy LP, “Roses.” The lush album, full of heartbreaking, ‘80s-
inspired tracks, evokes an inky sky electrified by neon, and explores the seductive side of the ominous.
Her videos for “Roses” and “U Kno” showcase a glossy, candy-coated exterior cloaking something both vulnerable and sinister. Get ready to ride the darkwave.
