HNY FROM IN!

As we settle into 2025, we find ourselves reflecting on the journey so far—the stories shared, the connections we’ve made, and the ways we’ve grown together from afar. IN has always been more than just a print to us. It’s been a tangible dream and space for creative exploration. And none of it would be possible without our readers, contributors, and supporters who breathe life into each issue.

Looking ahead, we want to continue to welcome voices at the forefront of change in fashion, music, and art—celebrating the humanity behind the creativity—God willing. But beyond that, we aim to create meaningful experiences and more opportunities for collaboration to connect with each of you.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

INtentions from Hannah Black, Creative Director

  • Document the journey. Like anyone with an Instagram, I tend to photograph the final product: the meal, the outfit, the culmination of a creative project. This year, I would like to use my film and VHS camera to document the mundane, the minute, and the moment.

  • Travel. Since the pandemic, I’ve mainly visited my parents when it comes to taking time off. In 2025, I hope to take Amtrak to see friends and explore another country with my mom (fingers crossed).

  • Be immaculate with your word. Sometimes I make plans and the procrastinating spirit gets the best of me. I hope to honor my commitments to others and my boundaries in equal measure.

  • Cultivate a sense of play, and create with consistency. I spend a lot of time researching and taking in the artwork of others, but lately have not been making much. Wether that’s knitting, collaging, or designing and producing this magazine itself, I want to take things on with a sense of fun and ease and lightness rather than the oppressive obligation of perfectionism.

  • Include friends in my hobbies. I hope to learn some card games and knit or bowl or go to karaoke/the arcade/the symphony with my homies.

  • Meal prep for work and take fewer ubers. You already know the vibesssss.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy year filled with love .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

With gratitude,

x HB

INtentions from Isis Nicole, Editor-in-chief

  • Embrace life’s rollercoaster with more ease. I would describe myself as positive—and I am confident that those closest to me would say the same. Yet, I’m equally sensitive. I recently experienced something I found to be inconsiderate and it’s testing my emotional resilience. I’m working to manage my reactions (shortening the time I get caught up in my head about why this and why that) to reduce personal triggers. I give myself permission to feel the feels for a small period, then regain focus. Life is long and there will be plenty more highs and lows ahead. I want to navigate both with grace.

  • Journal more. I used to write down dreams and goals, but I slowed down in the early parts of parenthood. Now that our sleep schedules are much more predictable, I would like to take time to jot stuff down to preserve memories. It’s always nice to have a little time capsule.

  • Find the perfect bed frame. At least perfect enough for the next 15 years. Our current bed frame was handed down to us and it’s falling apart. Now is the time we invest in quality sleep.

  • Stretch more. No excuses.

  • Continue to create new family traditions. I’m loving the blessing of parenthood with my husband and the honor of growing old together.

  • Research. In the age of so much information and misinformation, I want to keep on top of sourcing and fact-checking. I want to remain informed beyond my immediate scope as being alive as a human being—the stories from all communities are interconnected.

Thank you always. Wishing you a prosperous New Year! 🆙💘
